Hey, Soul Sister

Train

Last week was hands down the best week ever. Me and Gemma set off early on Tuesday morning to spend the day in Birmingham. I have wanted to visit Birmingham for a while so I was looking forward to going. To be honest though, it wasn’t very good. There wasn’t much to do, apart from visit Birmingham and Aston Villa’s football stadiums and stress out at the roadworks. My car was stressing me out too, I had booked a bus to London for the next day with Gemma but didn’t have anywhere to park my car that wouldn’t cost me basically all of my money for the next six days.

So, the journey to London began. Not on a bus though, in my car. I was quite nervous about driving to London, since its such a big, busy city but it wasn’t even that bad. I actually quite enjoyed it! On the first day in London we went sightseeing which was fun! We seen things like Big Ben, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square etc.

‘Train day’ in London had arrived and I woke up so early with excitement. I was excited to see Train but also to meet Train fans who I hadn’t met before. The concert was amazing, I loved hearing the new songs live and of course all of the older stuff as well. The next day in London we went sightseeing again. This time we went to Chelsea and Fulham’s stadiums and went into an attraction called the Death Trap. We walked through the dark building with actors jumping out at us. I screamed like a baby the whole way through it.

After three amazing days in London, we travelled to Birmingham for the second of four Train concerts. We met more Trainiacs who were all amazing. The concert was amazing too but the best part was meeting Train. At the end I seen Thomas O’keefe arranging for people to meet the band and I honestly don’t know what came across me but I asked him if me and Gemma could meet them too. He said yeah and that we had to join the queue…WHAAAT! Seriously, I would never ask someone that. I felt so bad and cheeky for asking him but I couldn’t believe it. I literally felt sick with excitement, and couldn’t stop smiling. Jimmy came out the dressing room first then Scott came out. He is so funny and such a nice person. Then….dum dum dum. Pat came through the door. OMG! I started shaking like a leaf. He is so cute! I couldn’t stop smiling. I couldn’t believe I was in the same room as Pat Monahan. Me and Gemma stayed up until about 2.30am talking about everything.

After a serious lack of sleep with excitement from the night before, I woke up and drove to Manchester with Gemma and Inger. We arrived at the venue in Manchester and seen Scott outside. He told me and Gemma that we were like his best friends now and that we should hang out haha! He also told someone that we said to him he is a good drummer, but is stupid. Funny guy! Inger managed to get after show passes for that gig and we met Scott and Jimmy. The concert was so good. Its amazing how an hour and a half of music can make you feel so happy.

Glasgow was the last concert we went to. This was my favourite concert out of the four shows. Probably because it was in Scotland. There was a bunch of us at this concert all waiting in the queue from like 9/10am. It was raining pretty much the whole day and was absolutely freezing but it was all worth it. The Train concert was amazing. I was so sad when it was finished! Me and Gemma got into my car to drive home and when we had just got onto the motorway heading towards Dundee, Gemma got a tweet from Amy to tell us Pergo wanted us to go back to the venue. I swear i drove like a lunatic going back lol! When we got there Thomas Okeefe brought out two signed guitars for me and Gemma. I was seriously in shock….How could one band be so kind?? Like really?? After Thomas put the guitars into my car, I seen Pat outside the venue. Me and Gemma went to see him and thanked him for what he and the rest of the guys had done for us. He gave us both a hug. So cute!

The journey home was 80 miles and I felt like i was driving for about 5 minutes. I couldn’t think about anything other than the guitars and meeting my favourite band and Train fans. I was all cried out by the time i got home (happy tears). We got home at about 1am and our mum and dad were waiting up for us to hear all about the concerts. We stayed up until about 3am telling them absolutely everything. They were so happy for us!

So that’s the story of the best week ever. I wish I could just do it all over again. The memories I have from this trip are unbelievable.

Got so much college work to get through and now have so little time to do it because once again, I left it to the last minute. Why do I always do that? Oh well, this is the last piece of work that i have to do before I leave for London on Tuesday! :-)

Driving away from Nashville towards who knows where to write with a possible new friend. The further I get from town, the more snow and the less people. Yes, I said snow. I remember driving and driving and as you would expect I eventually had no reason to have a mobile phone because it was…

PatBlogahan.com: The changing of the leaves

patmonahan:

Autumn is probably my favorite time of year. The colors mean everything to me. I’ve always felt like autumn inside. Leaves, which are green and unnoticed for much of their life spans, become vibrant and filled with personality and reason to pay attention.
Its a reminder that you can’t ever expect…
